Mascherano transfer
Just a day after I wrote about M.S.I. and Mascherano, the Argentinian international got a transfer to Liverpool.
But there is something very "special" about this transfer. According to article 5.3 of Fifa's Regulations for the Statues and Transfer of Players, a footballer cannot play for more than two different clubs between July 1st and June 30th.
Mascherano had already represented Corinthians and West Ham.
But it seems Liverpool has a history in managing to bend the rules (remember when they finished 5th in the Premiership the year the won the Champion's League? Only the top 4 teams should represent England in next year's Ch. L, byt Lpool got special permission), so Fifa finally gave the green light and the transfer was completed.
But how much did Liverpool pay for the player?
Isn't it so nice when stories have happy ending? Mascherano is happy, Liverpool are happy, West Ham are happy, FIFA are happy and of course M.S.I. are the happiest!
